“Arriving At Night In Ithaca” chronicles an imaginary nocturnal sea journey – imagine you are the sailor Ulysses, coming home after many years of travel. Wind instruments such as the bottle and flute play predominant roles in the composition, and no synthesizers were used, to emphasize its timeless qualities.
“Paiyatuma” is a wind instrument project of Thomas Park and Shane Morris. The duo incorporate a variety of wind instruments including trombone, flute, and found sounds such as bottles and whistles, as well as modern electronics and software in post processing. Future projects will include other wind players and continue to explore found sounds and other instruments.
